the full length of the east face and part of the south face trellis and the Maruhachi
(Cyathea mertensiana) which has leaf scars that look like the city emblem,
Kanji character for eight (hachi) in a circle (maru), a variety of large and small ferns such as relatives of
Cyathea and relatives of Platycerium
delight visitors. Shallow water tanks are installed from the west face to south face
and many precious ferns are planted here, it is a distinctive planting of a botanical garden.
